ASUS N series Notebook is registered at the "Gold" level, the highest tier of the Electronics Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) eco-program. EPEAT is an easy-to-use online tool that helps purchasers identify environmentally preferable desktops, notebooks and monitors. EPEAT requires products to meet stringent environmental criteria in eight categories. Among them are restrictions on hazardous substances, designing for end of life, energy conservation and packaging. ASUS is proud to offer its "Gold" N series notebook.
Designed to meet and exceed the "Gold" level of EPEAT, the N series incorporates many environmental improvements through its design. The display of the N series uses Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology which is not only mercury-free; it also uses less energy than traditional backlit displays.

As the reduction in hazardous materials is very important to ASUS, the N series uses materials that go beyond the requirements of international Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directives and laws by exceeding EPEAT's lower-than RoHS levels for mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, lead and brominated materials.

In addition to the stringent material requirements, the N series has been designed for easy disassembly, allowing for more reuse and recycling.

Power management and compliance to Energy Star are also standard features of the N series.
